I truly believe it's sad what's happening in our country today. But do we really have the will to stand up and do anything about it? I doubt that we do.

One thing we can do to avoid theft of tips is to put our tip amounts on credit or debit cards. Do wonder if this will help.

The doctrine of employment at will, which is in force in every state but one, does have some deficiencies in that it leaves little protection for workers who don't have a union or other strong voice behind them. At the very least, and I have stated it on this forum in the past, is that I would like to see all states adopt the Model Employee Termination Act(META). It can be found online, and would be a big step forward toward ensuring that those who feel they have been mistreated in any way at least have a voice even if it doesn't end up saving their jobs.

As to whether Obama can change direction here remains to be seen. Don't believe much will happen until at least the health care debate is finally solved.
