Transgender workers suffer a great deal of discrimination, so that it is often impossible to find employment, housing, health care, and other vital necessities of life.  I particularly appreciate your statement that sharing Labor Day with transgender workers means a commitment on the part of non-transgender people to educate themselves about the issues, rather than putting the blame on transgender people for not educating the rest of us. (That, unfortunately, is a position I have heard from some of our most respected politicians.)
