I work in a medical office and was asked by my boss directly, to NOT engage in social affairs with any of our patients. I hired one of them as our exterminator and another is now our vet for our dogs. I was recently invite out by the patient/my vet to join them when we are in close proximity during our vacations. I was asked to NOT join them or use any of our patients for my personal use. I am outraged as to the principal of the request. My doings had no negative or positve effect in the office one way or another. Others have personal relationships with patients outside the office. <br/>I believe it is a control issue and jealousy on my boss' part. My relations have caused NO problems. Real office issues that are going on and effect office staffers, schedules etc get ignored and un addressed, but my personal life seems to capture all the attention. I am not sure where the fine line is, but I believe my boss overstepped hers with that request.
